Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a process that uses lasers to get rid of unwanted hair. In laser hair removal, light is emitted and converted into heat by the pigment in the hair. It damages the hair-producing roots in the skin, preventing future hair growth.
01
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is one of the non-invasive, i.e. non-surgical aesthetic procedures used to get rid of unwanted body hair. The aim of laser hair removal is to permanently remove the hair root.

02
Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?
Laser epilation does not harm the skin or the body because it affects the hair roots. It can be applied to all parts of the body. With the developing technology, high energy and controlled laser beams of the same wavelength are sent to the hair roots of people in epilation lasers. By damaging the hair root for a certain period of time, it prevents further hair growth.

Which devices are used in Laser Epilation?
Alexandrite lasers: Alexandrite laser is more effective on people with fair skin and dark and thick hair. It is not used on the face and its surroundings. It works by detecting the cells that give color to the hair called melanin in the skin (melanocytes) and then destroying the hair follicles by giving controlled heat damage.
Diode Lasers: Less effective on thin hair, more effective on deep and thick hair. The wavelength penetrates deeper into the skin compared to Alexandrite and therefore provides effective results on dark skin.
ND-Yag lasers: This is a system developed for very dark skin types. The wavelength is deeper than the other two lasers. NdYAG laser is not preferred because of the longer sessions due to less melanin retention, more frequent side effects such as redness and edema after epilation, and because it is a more painful procedure.
In addition, ice lasers designed by combining Alexandrite, diode, ND-Yag laser wavelengths are also used. Since the Coolase Diode Laser device used in our center is designed by combining these three laser wavelengths, it provides effective results on all skin types.

04
Who should/should not have Laser Epilation?
It is very important to look at the person's skin structure, color and sensitivity. Laser epilation can be applied safely to everyone after the age of 12.
Laser hair removal should not be applied to people with photosensitive diseases such as epilepsy, cancer patients, HIV positive people, those with an infection in the area to be applied or those at risk, and those with skin diseases such as psoriasis and vitiligo.

05
Which Areas Can Laser Epilation Be Applied To?
Laser epilation should not be applied inside the eye socket or ear canal. Special glasses should be used to protect the eyes from laser light. Other than these, it can be applied to the entire body.
